Until Sept. 22, residents in Shenzhen will have the opportunity to take a close look at the original works of Pablo Picasso, one of the most dominant and influential artists in the 20th century, as more than 100 works of the Spanish painter and sculptor are being showcased in the “Authentic Work Exhibition of Pablo Picasso” at the MixC Art Exhibition Space in Luohu District.
The exhibition is in celebration of the 55th anniversary of the establishment of the diplomatic relations between China and France and aims to promote cultural exchanges between the two countries.
It is the first time that such large-scale works of Picasso have ever been exhibited in Shenzhen.
Covering an area of 800 square meters, the exhibition features Picasso’s works spanning 71 years and seven stages of his artistic career, including 39 lithographs, two oil paintings, three pieces of ceramics, and one crystal sculpture as well as over 100 photos of the artists.
The exhibition is also displaying six of Picasso’s 50 linocuts with his signature on each piece.
Besides bringing the works in front of visitors’ eyes, the exhibition also allows visitors to step inside the art world of Picasso. On the second floor of the exhibition gallery, visitors are offered an immersive experience in which they can take photos with light graffiti and learn more about the creation process of Picasso through projections.
